Community Partners

Citizens National Bank believes it’s important to make a difference in the local communities we serve through our volunteer efforts, financial assistance, and service to local nonprofits across the Bank’s footprint. In addition to these various means of support, we have established significant partnerships with eight charitable organizations which enhance the quality of life in our local communities. These are our Community Partners, and we invite you to learn more about the exceptional programs and services they have to offer.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross provides compassionate care to people in need through five key service areas: disaster relief, support to military families, lifesaving blood, health and safety services, and international services. If you’d like to get involved, consider donatingtaking a classgiving blood, or volunteering.

March is Red Cross Month, and around this time every year, CNB supports the American Red Cross with a major advertising blitz to raise awareness about the valuable services that the Red Cross has to offer. The Bank also encourages the community to pledge their financial support to the Red Cross and volunteer so that the organization’s valuable work can continue.

Boy Scouts of America

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. Scouting provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

Support of scouting is a long-standing tradition at Your CNB. In the fall of each year, we are pleased to welcome area scouts to the Bank as we help them kick off one of their largest fundraisers of the year, their popcorn sale, in the presence of the local media,

From time to time, we also welcome local scouts to the Bank from time to time who want to set up a table and sell their delicious popcorn. During this time of year, don’t be surprised if you see a CNB billboard or hear a CNB radio commercial that reminds everyone, “It’s Popcorn Time!”

CNB is also proud to support the Boy Scouts of America financially. Scouting plays a vital role in preparing local youths to be our leaders of tomorrow, and we recognize the valuable role that it plays in our society.

The Community Foundation of East Mississippi

The Community Foundation of East Mississippi (CFEM) is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to maintaining, improving, and enriching the quality of life in East Mississippi by supporting worthy causes, providing philanthropic services, and encouraging and providing leadership in response to changing community needs. They are also a catalyst for charitable giving that allows civic-minded individuals, families, and businesses to meet their philanthropic goals. The foundation meets this mission by assisting individual donors, families, and corporations as well as other nonprofits to grow charitable dollars, manage these resources, and then disburse funds based on the community needs and donors’ goals. Counties currently served by CFEM include Lauderdale, Clarke, Kemper, Neshoba, and Newton.

CFEM currently administers approximately $6 million in assets through 50 funds of broad and varied types.  To donate to any of CFEM’s funds, you can go online to www.cfem.org and click on “Give.”

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and its mission is to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

For almost 30 years, Citizens National Bank has partnered with Habitat for Humanity. We share its dream that every person should have a decent place to live, and we are proud to have served over the years on its local board. In addition, the Bank provides extensive marketing support to help Habitat solicit donations and recruit volunteers.

Meridian Symphony Orchestra

For more than five decades, the Meridian Symphony Orchestra has been a focal point of arts and culture in East Mississippi. Throughout its distinguished history, the MSO has maintained a tradition of producing great classical music concerts featuring the works of the master composers of the past and present as well as wonderful family programs like the annual Peppermint Pops, which is a favorite for hundreds of concertgoers.

Citizens National Bank recognizes the significant impact that the Meridian Symphony Orchestra has on our local economy and the way in which it enriches all of our lives. From serving on the symphony’s Board of Directors to sponsoring performances within their concert series, Citizens National Bank demonstrates its love for the Meridian Symphony Orchestra. For the past several years, we have also had the distinguished honor of hosting a Patron Recognition Luncheon in which the symphony recognizes its corporate sponsors. During this event, Maestro Peter Rubardt also previews the season just before opening night.

Be sure and visit the website, www.meridianso.org, to learn more about the symphony’s educational programs and annual concert series, which is held in the beautiful theater of the MSU Riley Center in downtown Meridian.

The Salvation Army

The ministry of The Salvation Army is motivated by the love of God, and its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.  It provides a wide variety of assistance to individuals and families who are in need of food, clothing, and temporary housing, for example.

For over 30 years, Salvation Army Angel Trees have been synonymous with Citizens National Bank branch locations. We make it so easy for local citizens to stop by our bank locations and choose the name of a local underprivileged child. Our customers and other caring people from the local community simply bring their unwrapped gifts back to the Bank, and we take it from there so that these children can experience the joy of the Christmas season.

Our employees are also passionate about serving on the local board of The Salvation Army, and they look forward to ringing bells beside the red kettles during the holiday shopping season.
