Hampton Thames, President, is pleased to announce that Kevin Brewer has been promoted to serve as the Bank’s Chief Sales Officer.
In this position, Kevin will be responsible for spearheading the creation and ongoing development of the Bank’s sales strategy and leading our sales force in a single direction with a common objective and vision. His responsibility includes leading the Bank’s efforts to retain existing customers and increase our customer base by adding new customers. This responsibility includes developing creative ideas to boost the Bank’s sales revenue by analyzing strategies in place and making improvements wherever necessary.
Hampton recently commented: “With the Bank’s considerable growth in recent years, we need someone who is focused entirely on commercial lending and relationship banking. Kevin does a great job of thinking globally for the betterment of the entire bank. His unique insights and ‘out of the box’ thinking make him a perfect fit for this role within the Bank,” Hampton added.
To ensure the Bank’s success in its sales efforts, Kevin will also consistently be involved in competitive analysis and finding key areas where the Bank can be even more successful in the markets that we serve. In addition, Kevin will be working closely with the Bank’s Chief Credit Officer, Chip Hines, to create a balance between production and underwriting. This partnership is designed to ensure that our sales force is following the Bank’s processes, and that our Bank’s underwriting is meeting our time standards.
In this new position, Kevin will also collaborate with our Bank’s four regions and with our Human Resources Department to ensure that we are recruiting and hiring the most effective sales personnel possible. Kevin is well connected in the banking industry throughout the state and serves on the Mississippi Bankers Association’s Lending Committee. Kevin will ensure that new relationship bankers are effectively onboarded when they join the Bank and that they receive proper training regarding the Bank’s processes. He will also ensure that ongoing training is provided to existing lenders as needed.
With 23 years of banking experience, Kevin has been a member of the CNB family since 2009. He joined our team as the Hattiesburg Market President and was promoted to serve as the Bank’s South MS Regional President in 2013. Prior to joining CNB, Kevin was employed with Cadence Bank in Starkville for nine years where he became a Vice President of Commercial Banking.
Originally from Meridian, Kevin is a 1999 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in real estate finance. He is also a 2007 graduate of the LSU Graduate School of Banking.
He and his wife, Clare, are proud parents of two daughters, and Kevin enjoys serving as a member of the Oak Grove Athletic Booster Club. The family also attends Temple Baptist Church where he currently serves as a deacon.
Active in the local community, Kevin has served on the Funds Allocation Committee for the United Way of Southeast Mississippi for the past four years, and also currently serves as a board member for the University of Southern Mississippi’s Children’s Center for Communication and Development.
